Mourning Charlie Kirk—and Why We Must Stand Strong

I’m honestly at a loss for words right now.

Earlier today found out that Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University.

I only discovered Charlie a couple months ago, but right away, I resonated with what he was sharing.
I appreciated his cause, his ability to stand up for what he believes in, and the way he could explain things so clearly and logically.

I’m in the middle of reading his book, The MAGA Doctrine, and I’ve watched a bunch of his videos and debates.
Every time, I found myself nodding along.
Sometimes he put words to things I already believed.
Other times, he helped me understand topics I hadn’t fully wrapped my head around.

The best way I can put it is this:
In the last few months, finding his work gave me a newfound hope for humanity.
Because honestly, the way our country and our world have been heading… it’s just been hard to watch.

I’m not usually one to share my political beliefs, especially with people who disagree.
I don’t like arguing.
But today, I can’t be passive.

The person who shot him—obviously, they wanted to silence him.
And I wish with everything in me that this hadn’t happened.

But here’s the thing.
Trying to silence him will only make his cause louder.
It will bring more attention to what he stood for than he or his organization ever could have done on their own.

And whether you agreed with him or not, I hope we can all agree that this was not the answer.

I’m praying for his family, his friends, everyone who loved him.
I’m praying for those who were there, for our country and our world.
That we can find a way to disagree without trying to destroy each other.
That we can stand up for what’s right, but also respect and love each other—like our Savior, Jesus Christ, would.

I’m a husband, a father, a small business owner.
Someone who recently bought my first home.
I believe in fighting for the American Dream.
And that’s what Charlie Kirk stood for:

  • Faith
  • Family
  • Freedom

What Can We Do Now?

  • Pray for Charlie’s family, friends, and all those affected.
  • Pray for our country and our world.
  • And honestly, don’t be shy about what you believe.
I know I’ve often been passive, not wanting to stir the pot or get into arguments.
But now is not the time to be passive.
If you believe in something good and true, let it be known.
    Stand up for it.
The world needs more people who aren’t afraid to speak up for what’s right.
  • Don’t let this trauma fester.
This is a trauma for all of us, whether you knew him personally or not.

Processing Trauma—A Practical Step

As a bodyworker, I know how important it is to help your body process trauma.
If you’re feeling the weight of this, please don’t just bottle it up.
I have free videos that guide you through Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises.
Do them tonight if you can.
The sooner you help your body process, the better.

We’re never going to forget this.
And we’re not going to back down from what is right.
If anything, we’re going to stand stronger as we mourn his loss.

Thank you, Charlie Kirk, for all you stood for.
